Trail entry
Old limestone wall path along the shoreline
This walk leaves Račišće and keeps to the old dry stone walls that hold small plots back from the water. Underfoot it is rough limestone with worn slabs where feet have passed for generations, and loose stones where the wall has shed material onto the track. There is almost no shade along the whole line, so the cooler ends of the day do most of the work here.
Wind is the other constant. On the open stretches it pushes straight off the sea, and the path narrows where it runs above the coves, so a steady step matters more than speed. Gaps in the wall mark the access points, and the route reads the same in either direction.
Uneven limestone, loose stones in places, worn slabs where the route is most used. Firm when dry, but the edges shift after rain.
Almost no shade anywhere on the line. Wind exposure is high on the open stretches and the path narrows above the coves.
Gaps in the wall mark the entry points. The route can be walked in either direction, past small coves along the shoreline.
